TiLT (Part 2): Giving Thanks For...

  • Having amazing friends who enjoy my presence and are willing to pick me up when I'm not doing so well. (This was the day that I played improv and a random girl told me I was a "bad partner". Conclusion: I'm not going to play improv for a while.)
  • Having an awesome family that's going to drive down to see me tomorrow. I haven't seen them in ages. It will be nice. (I'm only saying this because they read this blog... JUST KIDDING! Sort of. :P)
  • Having festive roommates who decorate our room for Christmas a month early.
  • The wonderful, slightly chilly weather that has finally graced Los Angeles.
  • The extra days to catch up on homework... I mean...
I'm just--- really thankful. In general. To life, for having worked things out in such a way that I can for once be content and not extremely anxious about things going on. I would say more but I only had a chance to write this at 4 in the morning, so my brain is pretty darn kaput. Happy Thanksgiving!

Falling for Fall

Fall is my favorite season when it comes to colors, but I'm not such a fan of the weather. Normally I can never figure out what to wear! This year I'm armed with cardigans and sweaters, though. Fall hasn't set in just yet here in "The Golden State". Some of the things I'm looking forward to this fall are:

The glass pumpkin is made by my sister's friend. Isn't it cute?
And the crochet is a recent creation of mine.
1// The afforementioned cardigans and sweaters! Oh yes. I love buying baggy sweaters from thrift stores and I feel like they're really comfortable, so I don't really mind looking like I'm wearing my mom's clothing. Ha. Still on the lookout for tights though, so that I don't have to wear tight jeans.
2// Pumpkin spice lattes. Or anything pumpkin-flavored. You can also replace pumpkin with vanilla, nutmeg, apple, cinammon, and anything else associated with fall. Hot drinks are the best, especially tea!
3// Seeing the leaves change colors. They look beautiful during the fall.
4// Having new shows begin for the fall TV season. I always told myself to not keep current with shows so that I would never have to deal with a cliffhanger, but it happened to be anyway. Sigh!
5// Getting the chance to decorate my dorm room for the year! Expect a post once I get to school.
6// Getting to wear knits! I love knits so much. This is probably obvious by now.
7// Meeting my new roommate, Tina! So excited. She's into the arts as well.
8// Growing my hair out and seeing other people growing their hair out again.
9// The feeling of a new year approaching. And with this comes other new LCC Theatre Co. production, so lots of creative projects are coming up as well!
10// Cuddling up in a million more blankets that I added to my bed after the hot summer season.

This year's going to be great, I can just feel it. Only a couple more days to go 'til I'm swept up in the madness!

Weekly Postivity!

Think of the little things.

And if you can't come up with anything, go here and be reminded of all of them in a simple picture format. Or...

If you like a blogging format instead of pictures, you can also read about all the little things that happen that you take for granted here. I've read this blog for years, and I really don't realize how amazing some of these things are until I read about them! One of my favorites is a classic, but some of the others are not quite the usual cliches. I mean,  "#815 When you nudge the person snoring next to you and it makes them stop"? Awesome.

Some of my favorite "little things" as of recent?
x Seeing one of your favorite bands on TV after a long time. Or hearing them on the radio. (RHCP, I will always love you.)
x Shaving your legs and reveling in the silky smoothness.
x Sleeping on just-washed sheets and a cold pillow. Oh yeah, two in one!
x Thinking about your best friend and then hearing from them the next day.
x Waking up at an early hour feeling rested, without need of an alarm clock.
x Finding out that someone has landed safely after a long flight.
x Seeing people you haven't seen in ages, and it's as though no time has passed.
x Finding out that a band you really want to see is heading to your city.
x Reading old emails and realizing the amazing leaps your grammar has taken over the years.
x Enjoying gifts that people bring back from their travels. (Has anyone tried Soan Papdi? It is an Indian sweet and it is brilliant.)

I wasn't having such a great day yesterday, but thinking about this makes today feel a little brighter. Make your own lists, and link it to me in the comments if you do!
