Just Popping in to Say...

That I made my first sale! The bone clip is now gone and I will probably be making another one soon with different thread because I just love it a lot. I definitely wasn't expecting to sell anything within 2 months, so yay for little accomplishments! This is my first dollar... ever. (I never had a job before this, sad I know). But it's cool to think that my first dollar was an online one!

I wish this could be a longer and more picture-filled post, but alas, the time has come for homework. I'm already behind in reading even though the quarter's just begun. Oh college...

Say Hello to Ms. Olivia Octopia!

Okay, so my personal name for her is stupid. I can call her whatever I want to, okay?

You can find both of these 8x10 prints in the shop and order one of your own (sans annoying copyright, of course). Currently there's only one available of each so have at it! On a not-so-unrelated note, I'm going back to doing a bit of crochet a day, since I'm missing it. Expect more in the upcoming weeks of both prints and crochet pieces!

Finally!

So my internet came back last night, and I'm now ready to post... expect to see these babies in the shop by 5PM EST!

Little bow blue skinny waist belt (mainly because I needed one at the time so I decided to make another for the shop)

Bunting three-chain headband... ooh, shiny!
Most excited about this one. Custom scallop brooches, choose your own colors!
Bone Hair Clip. For those who don't take life too seriously.
Note the beehive in the last photo... pretty cute, if I do say so myself. Although my hair still needs a bit of growing out before it looks nice and full!

And now, I feel like this time calls for self-evaluation (or I just like talking to myself, one or the other!). I'm slowly starting to figure out what direction I want my shop to go in, so that's good. I initally wanted to build inventory so I've been crocheting like a mad (fun?) woman these days. I think I should probably begin editing soon; being a bit more picky about what I put in the shop and experimenting more!

On a kind-of related note, I'm testing out prints today, so fingers crossed that it works out! The reason why I'm so excited about it is because I can bring a bit more personality to my prints than to my crochet (but I still love both).

Alright. Enough rambling about the shop, I've just been a very excited little lady these past couple of days! I love simply doing what I love.

Hi guys!

A sneak peek of something I've been working on is in the corner!

I'm taking a little break in the blogging world this morning to finish off a couple of listings, which should be up by the end of today or tomorrow! How exciting! I'll be back later with pictures of the new products so that you can snag 'em if you're interested :)

PS. A quick warning-- I'm in the early stages of prepping a slightly new look for my blog, so if anything looks a bit wonky, well, you're not imagining things!

Shop Update!

I will soon be adding these lovelies to the shop:
This headband is peachy keen!
Muffs are good for people who always have cold hands (like me!). This one has white faux fur on the inside!
Stripes are always in. Especially when paired with a cowl/ shawl thing.
Goodness. I feel like I still haven't reached my store's maximum potential, but it's only been a week since it's been open. I still have several products that are about 99% done (just have to add a button!) but I haven't finished them up yet because I've been working on new ones. Sigh. Hope you like these, though! :) I am pushing my crochet and knitting skills every day, so I am feeling satisfied.

I feel like a lot of people who create have this urge-- the urge to miraculously turn all your ideas into finished products at the blink of an eye-- but just remember, it has to take time! I need to remind myself sometimes too.

The Little Willow Shop is

Hello lovelies!

I was rushing about all day trying to get pictures for my store because I have meager hours of good sunlight. So basically it took a while, but I am finally LIVE ON AIR!

Sneakola-Peekola at one of the items, go to the store to see others!:

Here's the deal. This month, I was mainly focusing on knit and crochet as my techniques, since I know it takes a while for me to properly finish products to perfection (try saying that 3 times fast!). I wanted to do simple items first (headbands, clips, etc), so that my page wouldn't look too empty. As time passes, you will see more of my own illustrations (huzzah for a new scanner!) and you will also see some glasswork, and random little experiments. The reason for this huge assortment of items is because I want to see what "works", and what people take to more than other products. Basically, I'm trying to get a feel of what you like so that I can make more of what you like! I'll be back in about a week or two with a product survey. (Organization? What?! :P)

Ideas I'm playing around with in the future:
x Larger-scale items: A muff and a purse, to name a few (These ones are almost finished, actually)!
x A giveaway
x Coupon Codes, Discounts
x Glassware (as stated above)

(Playing around with free Photoshop Instagram Actions. Thanks Amy for blogging about it!)
If you have any questions, email me at LittleWillowArt@gmail.com.

Thanks for stickin' around! Today has been one of the most tiring days of my life, but certainly the most rewarding.

Tiny Successes!

I have no idea if anyone would think these things are that big of a deal, but to me they are, because they are teeny personal successes that have led me to be a very happy gal this week.

I signed on today and found out that I reached over 100 page views on this blog! To me that's something to celebrate since I'm such a blogging noob; I'm rounding on 3 weeks now. :"D Thanks so much for commenting and reading, everyone!

More things to celebrate:
  • I was the lucky lucky winner of a pair of Blowfish Shoes on Amy Morby's blog! She seems so nice, check her out if you have time. I will definitely blog about them when they come in! Highlight of my week, most certainly.
  • My scanner is finally working for my computer, so I can upload Daily Animal Doodles now, and they'll look nice and clean! Somehow or the other the software worked a second time around. Unfortunately I've fallen behind the past couple of days... tomorrow's catch-up day, and I have around 3 to catch up with. Uh-oh!
  • My laptop is finally getting a replacement battery, so I won't be constantly living in fear of it spontaneously dying on me.
  • The shop is opening in... 9 days? (I'm terrible with counting.) I'm so nervous but excited. For the first few weeks, you can expect to see some "standard" items. In the meantime, I'll be working on some larger scale projects that you will hopefully like when they come out! I now have so much appreciation for anyone who has an online business; it's a lot of work!
I'm writing this at night so that I can sleep in tomorrow (I really need it!). I'll let you know what I was up to today later on in the week instead, I am pooped!

Yarn and Photoshop

Just a quick post to say that the shop is progressing! Only ten more days until the store opens, and I'm very excited! Currently I'm working on little knick-knacks, nothing too large, but as time progresses I am planning on putting some bigger pieces up. I just want to get a stable start without getting ahead of myself.

Yesterday was really nice. My friends and I went around town, attempted to walk around the lake, drank lots of cucumber water, and caught up at a cafe. All in all, a good day! My camera died on me, so I have no pictures. Womp.

Here's a sneak peek at the new banner for the store:

I'm off to doodle, brainstorm, and crochet my day away! I'll hopefully be uploading some drawings from the Daily Animal Doodles, too. I've been keeping up, but often forgetting to photograph and upload them onto Flickr for others to see!
